She is now very, very naked…
Just because I can, I am going to temporarily name our 2022 Challenger. Cassandra. Not for any reason other than I feels like it suits her. Anyway, Cassandra is currently right down to the barest of bones as we continue to go through and get her prepped for a clean and repair, all the while still making lists and ordering parts.
One thing we do want to highlight in this post though is something we all know but can sometimes never feel like the next priority. I am of course referring to motorcycle maintenance. Just like with anything mechanical, maintenance work and fluid management is very often preventative because it is a whole lot cheaper to take good care of a thing then it is to drop thousands repairing a thing.
This is especially visible when it came to the wheel bearings. As a general rule, many parts of the bike are effectively “sealed” to keep things efficient and not cause damage but as we all know… dust gets everywhere. Glitter is a good parallel because anyone who has been unfortunate enough to find themselves around it knows it just lingers. Well, its a visible representation of what occurs, so imagine a finer material like dust in your mechanisms and you get an idea of what the grinding and deterioation of these areas can begin with.
Look after it and it will look after you.
Don’t be like Cassandra.
