What Tires Say When They Speak

We knew this as soon as we took this bike in but just to make it public, this bad boy needs some new tires! Anyone who has been around a while will likely be aware, but it never hurts to reiterate some key knowledge as hopefully it can help save issues and lives.

What we are pointing to below is the coloration of the tire. When it turns blue it due to a chemical change and is a result of the tires reaching extremely high temperatures. Is it something to worry about? Not necessarily, however your tires do only have a certain number of these heat cycles they can tolerate so you do have to watch out.

So, if you race your bikes around at great speeds, burn out frequently, or any other high intensity, heat building activities, keep an eye out for this.

As for us… better safe than sorry. New tires it is.
